Corporate Punk'd...

| |

I was just talking with a colleague the other day and we came up with the concept of being "Corporate Punk'd".

This is when you feel that the actions/decisions/policies of some in your company (generally management) are so ... um ... irrational/mis-informed/misaligned that you would swear you're on some reality TV show where management is comprised of actors that are intentionally trying to drive you to the big house.

The sad truth is that you're probably not on a TV show...

I won't confirm or deny if this has happened to me in the past, but lets just say that I've "observed it".

I'd be interested though if anyone else has felt they've been "Corporate Punk'd".  Feel free to leave an Anonymous comment here, though anything that is TOO slanderous will be removed (I don't want to get into hot water either).

I only hope I haven't contributed directly to anyone's feeling of being "Corporate Punk'd" myself...

Google Acquires Internet for $2,455.5 billion in cash...

This just in: Google is announced to have bought the Internet.  The $2.4 Trillion all cash deal, set to close in May 2017 finally accomplishes what Google has always set out to do... world domination.

This also in: It turns out that reports that a Google intends to destroy all content it can't index have been greatly exaggerated, as a result some of The Onion's other reports are called into question...

Mankiw's 10 Principles of Economics de-constructed...

|

Okay, so this is definitely tongue-in-cheek, but I think this is very funny (and Economists are not generally funny).

On the difference between Macro- and Micro-economists:
"Micro-economists are wrong about specific things; Macro-economists are wrong about things in general"

Yoram Bauman, Ph.D. (the "Stand-up Economist")

I found this on Eisenberg's blog.

Blog depression...

It affects us all...

Depressed over your blog? Read this

The Onionist posted something funny today that quite a few people emailed me: What everyone should know about blog depression.

It's a PDF and if you don't write a blog obsessively you probably won't see the humor in it.
