New Tablet PC candidate (Motion Computing)...

So I've been looking to replace my aging (and slowing) HP TC1100 for some time now.  My wife dropped my last one that I bought (which had a faster processor, built-in BlueTooth, ..., but I digress...), so I've had this one for about 3yrs.

I'm looking at the Motion Computing LE1700.  It seems appropriate, and given that I'm partial to the slate mode of my HP (the model for which is now discontinued), it seems the best option.

The specs seem decent to me and I haven't seen anything better (that is both a Tablet PC and comes in a slate format).  Thoughts?

Tablets vs Laptops

Looks like a good product, but is there any real advantage of a tablet over a laptop? I'm addicted to a keyboard and am not sure I could do without a real one. Thoughts?

Keyboards

Actually most Tablet PCs available today are in a "laptop" format, and use a swivel screen to expose the screen to "inking".

I'm particularly fond of "slate format" Tablets because they're lighter and easier to read from in more casual environments. I also find that they are less intrusive in "executive settings" such as boardroom meetings with conservative attendees. It is still not considered "appropriate" in many circles to have a laptop on a boardroom table (typing notes, etc.), but a slate lying on the table used for hand-written notes seems to be fine for many older executives (and as a matter of fact really piques their interest).
